Conditions for Lateral Transfer

Application Conditions (Domestic and International)

A) Change of Major with CASP (Centre for Assessment, Selection and Placement) Results
Students from other institutions (Change of University – CoU students), international students (International Transfer Students placed by CASP), and students transferring within the same institution (Change of Major – CoM students) may transfer to:

Associate Degree programmes as 1st and 2nd-year students, or

Bachelor’s Degree programmes as 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th-year students.


Application:

Central Placement (CASP) Examination score of the students must be equal to or higher than the required minimum score of the programme for the year students take the Central Placement Exam.
Depending on the year of student’s CASP (ÖSYM) result, if the minimum required score of the department for that year is equal to or lower than the student’s score, they may apply for admission. Those who are placed through Vertical Transfer Examination can only apply for the programmes they can be admitted based on their Associate Degree programmes specified in the VTE (DGS) Guidebook of the relevant year, and on their VTE (DGS – Vertical Transfer Examination) scores.

B) Change of Major with GPA

* CoU (Change of University) students, International Transfer Students, and CoM (Change of Major) students may transfer to:


a) Associate degree programmes in the 2nd and 3rd terms, or


b) Bachelor’s degree programmes as 2nd and 3rd-year students (for the Fall Term only).
*CoU transfer students must have a minimum GPA of 60 out of 100 (2.29/4) for the terms completed in the programme of study.


*Students with disciplinary records are not eligible for transfer.


*Associate Degree students who wish to transfer from Evening Education to Daytime Education (morning or afternoon shift) are required to have no failed courses up to their current year, and to place in the upper 10%.


*There are no conditions for associate degree students who wish to transfer from daytime shift to evening shift of the same programme.


*All the change of major procedures are carried out according to the “Regulations on the Provisions of Transfer between Associate and Undergraduate Degree Programmes in Higher Education Institutions” and the decisions of Council of Higher Education (CoHE).

  1. Transcript of Records which shows the courses taken by the students and the grades received (It must be submitted in a sealed envelope.)
  2. Course Plan (A list of courses for 8 terms for bachelor’s degree and 4 terms for associate degree programmes)
  3. Course contents (The document, certified by a notary public or the Institution, which shows the courses passed up to the term completed)
  4. Disciplinary Status Report (Unnecessary if specified on the transcript)
  5. CASP (ÖSYM) document pertaining to the year of enrolment at the institution proving the student’s placement
  6. CASP (ÖSYM) document pertaining to the year of enrolment at the institution showing all the scores the student has received
  7. Statement of Student Status (up-to-date)
  8. If the student has received education in any other higher education institution, certified transcript of records issued by the relevant institution
  9. A document from the current higher education institution which shows that the student has never benefited from a change of major programme under Additional Clause 1 (based on the score of Central Placement Exam)
