The key element of the internationalisation strategy of Beykent University can be described “incorporating internationalisation into its research and innovation strategies along with learning and teaching strategies as its main academic mission, and thereby giving the utmost priority to quality in its strategies”. International and European cooperation plays an important role in the strategic development of Beykent University.

Beykent University welcomes over 1200 international students, which creates a friendly international atmosphere for students and staff. The growing number of international students from all over the world helps the University create an international atmosphere in its 4 campuses located in Istanbul, which is the only city in the world located on two continents with bridges over the Bosphorus connecting Europe and Asia, and also the former capital of three successive Empires: Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman. Today Istanbul is a vibrant metropolitan city with more than 16 million citizens, and offers a wide spectrum of economic, industrial and cultural activities, which makes it an ideal setting for educational and cultural studies.

Beykent University aims to provide the required atmosphere and environment for a productive, active, and quality university experience during which the current students and Incoming Students integrate with the University, feel the support of the University for their personal, cultural, social, and professional developments in every field, are counselled to find solutions for their problems, and feel proud and happy to be a member of Beykent University.

Beykent University had already designed the curriculum in compliance with the internationalisation strategy and was honoured by the European Commission with Diploma Supplement label in 2013.

In terms of the organisation and implementation of international cooperation projects, the aim of Beykent University is to give participants the opportunity to acquire a better understanding of education and training systems, and to give an insight about current policies and strategies regarding the organisation and management of education and training activities.   

In parallel with the University’s participation in the Programme, the recognition of academic qualification has recently been modernised and simplified to ensure a smoother and swifter process.

Beykent University aims to provide the required support services for students with disabilities to continue their studies in a safely accessible and suitable environment and utilize the facilities and services of the University effectively. The University also aims to create a supportive and inclusive environment for matriculating students to set and realise their academic, social, personal, and professional goals.

Another expected consequence of the participation of Beykent University is that incentives to encourage structured partnership with enterprises will bring the University closer to the world business. This partnership will strengthen interactions between Beykent University and enterprises as well as help the University develop entrepreneurial skills along with managerial and innovative skills in the institution. 

Furthermore, participation in the Programme will provide more opportunities for students to gain additional skills through studying and/or training abroad, encourage cross-border cooperation to boost higher education performance, and strengthen the ‘’knowledge triangle’’, by linking education, research and business.

Participation in the Programme will ensure that higher education is widely accessible without discrimination of any kind based on social economic, cultural, racial or political backgrounds, which Beykent University believes is fundamental for determining the future of EU citizenship. In compliance with this, it is one of the goals of Beykent University in relation to society to contribute to European integration and prepare students to become active citizens who will support European cohesion.

Beykent University undertakes responsibility for contribution to the preparation of all kinds of materials for the international promotion of the University.

Studying and/or training overseas is considered as an important opportunity for students to develop social and intercultural skills and to increase their employability rates. Beykent University stands out with its high number of exchange students and staff in Erasmus+ Programme among Turkish universities. To make the programme transparent, all Exchange agreements, application and selection procedures that are announced by Turkish National Agency, are uploaded to the website. By means of recognition of credits that are taken abroad, and using the ECTS and Diploma Supplement, Beykent University ensures quality in mobility activities.
